My son started his basketball season two weeks ago. He is a freshman in High School and has been playing basketball since second grade. Now that the "real" season has started, they are practicing very hard for two hours a day. Yesterday, he was complaining that he had a lot of leg cramps in his calves and in his thighs. I pulled out my essential oil handbook and read that Cypress, Marjoram, and Lavender were good for charlie horses. I had my son rub these oils into his sore areas, and then we also used Aroma Seis and finished it off with Peppermint. I use Aroma Seis a lot for my back pain; this oil blend works well with me. I always apply Peppermint on muscle problems because it helps the other oils penetrate deeply. I also love the smell and feel of Peppermint. I will have my son apply Aroma Seis and Peppermint on his sore muscle areas every night before he goes to bed until the soreness goes away.

Introduction to Dr Mom and using Essential Oils
Hello World. I have experienced the wonderful world of aromatherapy and its many uses for family health issues. I want to share this with you in hoping that aromatherapy and essential oils will help you and your family feel better. I have been using essential oils for the past five months on myself, and it has had a significant impact in treating my chronic back pain. I am now using various oils on my family to treat a multitude of aches and pains. The use of essentail oils is a natural treatment that allows your body to treat itself without having to rely on medications and antibiotics.
With this blog, I would like to share with you my familes uses of essential oils and how they are helping us without having to rely on "modern medicine". I would love to hear back from you as to what you think about aromatherapy and how it has helped you in your families everyday treatment.
